Swedish Test Miniature

I finished a test miniature for my Great Northern War Swedish army yesterday. I am pleased with the initial figure, but I have decided that I will order these in marching position in the future as there were a lot of problems getting to a lot of areas. I will be working to finish the other 5 that will be based with this one.

Deploying Sweden

I am beginning my foray into The Great Northern War. My plan is to alternate painting units between Sweden and Russia in preparation to play Beneath the Lily Banners by Barry Hilton and the League of Augsburg (great site!) My first order was for a unit of these wonderful castings from Reiver Miniatures via Under the Bed across the ocean. A week after paying for them, they arrived on my doorstep! I was very pleased upon close inspection of the miniatures, although when I started cleaning the figures I was a bit disappointed in the sword sheathes, some of which were not fully cast and broke off, so I will have to do a little green stuff work. In any case, here is a picture of the first base that I am about to prep for priming and then painting. I hope to have this base done soon, depending on how busy life is in the next week. Off to clean some miniatures!
